I'm going to pickup a 2000 stall converter at some point and see how that helps.

When adjusting the part throttle (APT) Does it Have to be a whole turn each time? what im really asking is, if i make a 1/4 turn adjustment will it make a difference?

I think i'm still running just a little bit lean, yesterday i took her out on the street and decided to see how she would launch.
From sitting still i dropped the throttle wide open and it was pretty wild, i had to let off the throttle to get traction, as soon as i let the throttle snap back i heard a semi-loud pop in the exhaust, just one pop. So if i'm still lean it's by a small amount.

Alright i'm not out of the red yet. Yesterday i took the car for a test drive and coming down a small-sloped hill in 3rd gear i started accelerating with mid-heavy throttle, around 3100 RPM the engine started cutting out. Does it still round like im running lean?
