if thats the case, im pretty sure my 307's number one was to the right of the wire connections. cant say for sure tho, that was awhile ago...

wire sets are made to fit with the number one in the above picture...that way the lengths are right

ive gotta call BS on that...ive bought more than one set of wires where they give you kooky lenghts and no matter what, some are longer than they should be. bosch is the worst for than...

I have made mistakes in the past on other issues but it was from being misinformed or some other innocent reason for my error..I have no need to bullshit...

Usually, the added length is to allow for the proper wire clips to be used to keep the wires neatly tucked away. If you find you have a lot of length left, its usually because the original wiring clips are gone or out of place or the routing has been abandoned. Id much rather have a wire a bit too long, than not long enough.

im just messing around brother...

same here bill. altho i did have a set once that had one wire that was too short for anything. im not sure if someone screwed up somewhere along the line or what, but this one was a good 2 inches short for my #8...

Yeah...and remember that the distributor position can make all the diff when routing the wires too.

how can it be that out tho that it effects the routing of wires that are supposed to be put together for that motor? a few degrees maybe, but anything more than that an i cant see how the motor would run anyhow...

You do know that you can wire the distributor from any point where the rotor is pointing, as long as number one is where the rotor is pointing on the cap. So number one can be any of the eights spots on the cap, as long as the rotor is at that same spot. I have seen and used this numerous times and have never had a problem.
