I had tapped the 1/8 NPT into the adapter fitting and it worked fine. I had tightened the elbow into the adapter and it was fine but I had to go another turn with the tap to get it aligned. Tried taking the elbow out and it must have gaulled going in because the threads ate themselves as you can see.

Yeah, i wish I could use ORB to -6 fittings but I don't have an o ring port on the regulator, it has an internal flare like a brake or fuel line. I guess it IS fuel line flare thread but metric so thats my issue.

Well scratch my whole struggle.

I was searching to see if I could find the right fitting and someone said a solution is to just flip the pressure regulator 180 degrees on the mount and route the return pointing upwards.

I'll need to buy another metric adapter fitting since I boogered mine up but that will allow me to not modify anything. Won't be as pretty and i'll have to reroute some vacuum line but thats the easy way.

Well prepare yourself for forum spamming the next few days.

Got a bit prepped by degreasing the 2004r. It came out of my GP 2+2 which had a leak and was driven down gravel a lot. Had probably 2 inches of muck built up on the side of the trans. Had some engine degreaser so I sprayed it down.

Are you sure the oil loss isn't from the rear main (rope) seal? Not to threaten your excuse for going turbo ....

That trans came out of my 2+2 which at one point lived behind a 350 SBC for about 2 weeks in the late 90's before they blew the engine. It hasn't moved a car since 1997 so I hope the trans works.

Fired 'er up and took it to menards for some supplies at 9am for one last drive with the factory heart.

Ran an hour away to buy an olds 425 crank so I didn't get started until 2 today but I got more stuff done.

I bought a 2004r crossmember out of a monte SS a few years back and it's been sitting in my stash since. I forgot about the pre 83 frames not having the frame extension for the 2004r and didn't have the part ordered so I bought an $11 piece of 2" angle iron and cut it apart and welded it up.

Ordered some fittings, the trans mount, trans filter and tailshaft seal, and some other odds and ends last night.

I need to start mounting the harness under the hood an get the harness done under the dash. I need to splice some wires and do some creative stuff from the old CCC carb system I yanked out of my 2+2. It's close to the turbo buick stuff but not entirely the same. I have to get the other little stuff like the neutral safety switch on the steering column, OBD port, hope the turbo buick fuse box plugin is the same or close, run some wire to the fuel tank for power and level sensor, find out why my turbo buick harness doesnt plug into the 305 non BRF code 2004r, ect ect.

The easy part is dropping the engine in :O

Dropped the tank after work and and swapped the carbed sender to the astro van sender.

I haven't seen any good comparisons so i might make a post on that later.

Same but the float level is pretty close too
1545193223007.png

Top view, I had to cut the key tabs off the astro sender so the hoses go forward. The left 3/8 is feed, second to the left is 5/16 return, other 2 need plugged.

And it's in! I hung a walbro 255 in the stock hanger and had to trim a bit on the hanger for the sock to fit and sit fully in.
