I sometimes do the opposite- drive with the windows down and A/C on-to warm up in my truck. I have the compressor hot wired to be on at all times when the truck is on (and I lowered the refrigerant level so it would not lock up), and if the fan is not on 3 or 4, it freezes up. So, I roll down the windows to warm up.
