So as I'm fairly close to having paint on my cutlass I'm trying to make sure I have any new hardware ready to go. That being said, I've been hunting on what door strikers to get....mine are obviously 30 years old and worn out. I've found the oem style via mikes montes, dixie resto, eBay, etc.
Just curious if any of you guys have used any aftermarket style strikers? I love the look of these ring brothers billet strikers or something similar. Input is appreciated, thanks guys!

Those look awesome, I personally had some like new OEM. I cleaned them up and painted them semi gloss black. I like the OEM since the ring moves freely of the striker.

Cool, that was the other question I had but forgot to ask it Jim....about the ring moving and if the solid striker would wear faster due to not having that. Shoulda bought some a couple weeks ago, just torn on what would better for long term use.
Duh....you do mean the ring on the striker part itself right and not the washer that holds it to the jamb?
Thanks Jim, btw can't wait to see the next wagon update that thing is looking bitchin!!

Scott, I know you're already familiar with Digi-tails, I see they offer a reasonably priced set in stainless.

They're not quite as fancy as the Ring Bros ones, but not quite as pricey either. These are almost identical to the ones I'm using on mine.

I do mean the ring on the striker pin itself. Not sure how long a solid one would last, but the ring brothers and the digitails are nice units. Thanks for the compliment! I'll have more updates soon. Let us know what pin you end up using.

I bought the black ones from Mike's Montes and they also are solid, I do like having the ring on there so I might just keep my originals.
They were only $16 shipped on Ebay though.

Will do Jim....leaning towards the ring bros units as I have this issue called OCD (obsessive customizing disorder) that is causing me to spend too much lol! Seriously though, I have a couple ring bros products and their quality is top notch, so it's fitting to match and pull my theme from the engine bay to the interior.

I was gonna do the same, but kept hitting the junkyard till I found some ones. 4 doors are the ones to get them from. The rear doors have the least wear.

Mine weren't that bad, but I exchanged them for the strikers I pulled from the '82-'83 Malibu wagon I got my replacement doors from.

Well boys I pulled the trigger on the ring bros strikers and I must say they look better in person! Not the cheapest option by far, but will add a nice touch to the boring door jamb. Now if ring bros made door jamb vents for our cars I would be pumped....there are options out there but don't soothe my eye. Now I just need to source some stainless or aluminum spacer washers just in case.
