Down and out (BACK AND RUNNING)

Sorry to hear that man. When something like that happens to me, I have to drop it and focus on something else for a while. When I come back in a week or month or whatever, I've had time to think it over and I'm not as frustrated and angry, so I can think more clearly. If I keep trying to go back to mess with it without taking a break, I just get more and more frustrated with it.

Well I finally got the engine out and over to the shop. As soon as I set it on the stand and began turning it over to pull the pan off I heard that signature clunk. Sure as sh*t the oil pickup broke off of the pump. Sheared the hold down bracket right off. Kinda bittersweet since I was finally right about something but still...

Pulled a few rod caps and while the bearings were sh*t the crank looked good. The mains were another story. It will need cut to say the least. I only pulled the #1 and #2 mains since they are the farthest from the pump. Lifters look good, cam lobes look good and im really holding my breath on the rest of the cam. I will know more next wednesday since im only working on it on my off days.

Hopefully you get away with min. damage! I know you have your priorities set (which I admire) so I hope you can find the time and cash to rectify the problem. I posted - ENGINE FINALLY QUIT - last year and the only thing I could salvage were the heads after some valve replacement.
