DYNO TIME

Yeah now that I look at the dyno sheet something isn't right, plus for being a 6.0L, it isn't making the torque it should be.... somethings fishy

Look at the scales for HP and TQ on the left and right - they aren't equal.
You're right didn't notice that on the phone. Both seem to be about 380ish at 5252

Oh, derr, LY6. I was thinking LH6. Now the 430 is more realistic.

Poor intake choice for torque, The short runner Holley is not one of the better performers.

Those numbers look good and correct for what he has there to me. That is not a big NA cam IMO.

The attachment was an LT1 (6.2) with a .700 lift on a 106 with low 250s intake duration and mid 265 on exhaust. Absolutely silly amount of lope. Local dyno shop ran this yesterday.

It's not that much better than the OP's numbers, but way more money invested. If I was the OP, then I'd be ecstatic with those numbers.

What kind of trans and diff are you pushing that through? I'll be lucky to hit 430 in my C5 Z06 with a similar cam, BTR Stage2 turbo cam. Dynojets are pretty damn consistent though, I'll give them that.

RPM transmission stage 2 rebuild with a shift kit and a Grand National 8.5 housing that i put a quick performance posi, 3.42 yukon gears and mosier axles

What does that equal at the motor? It would take me a while to figure out it is a LS under the hood, looks good. Unfortunately your bottom end issues are common to 455 builds, which is what lead to this. i prefer the Olds 350 over the 455 due to a much lighter resiprocating assembly, far less failed builds. The problem was a 100 ci deficit to make up, the new 4 inch stroke in 5140 or 4340 billet steel is actually lighter than the 330 crank I am using and stronger. Of course I am doing a 424ci 403, so what do I know. Wish I would have waited to get the same ci from an Olds 350, consider it, blocks are near free and the stroker assembly for 5140 crank, aftermarket rods and forged pistons, rings and bearings is around $2500 US. Curious, what do have in this LS build, all said and done? I am not ******** on your thread, how does it feel compared to the 455? I also hate an immobile car, I put in a bent rod 350 just to keep my 70 driveable, cannot stand a vehicle sitting, so I get why an easy to find LS was used. Enjoy your car.

well the 455 would have lived if i hadn't had the machine shop build the short block. when they machined the block and turned the crank, they never cleaned the oil passages so when i primed the engine before starting it, it pushed all the junk into the bearings and trashed the crank. I only got about 30 miles on the 455 before i noticed there was an issue. so i cant really say what the feeling difference is between the 2. as far as costs go, i have about $4500 in the LS swap since i already had the radiator and also transmission behind the 455. if i included that, then i have about $8000 total

You are right, just trying to make sense of the number. I guess without knowing what trans is in it, tough to calculate. A 2004R no doubt sucks less power than a TH400. No surprise on the torque number, flame proof under wear are on.
sorry for not adding that. running a 4L80E with shift kit
