I didn't intend any criticism. just a case of sticker shock
I just did a 3/4 ton GMC 4X4 Rotors and pads and the parts were under $250
We use GM Durastop premium ceramic pads and Durastop premium rotors.
We also use Bendix titanium metallic pads and rotors None of the parts from our suppliers are anywhere near that spendy.
We also have found from experience that the EBC pads seem to be hard on the rotors , causing early replacement.

tc, try the EBC brakes on your camino and you'll see why we don't mind spending the money. I don't find them hard on the rotors and even if they are they give me the confidence to do what I want to do with the car.

and looks at these guys, they're begging you to protect them with EBC brakes..

That's alright, I have seen first hand what they do. They are awesome for the track or even some severe duty applications.
That's great , But in the every day world they wear the rotors at a faster rate.
You should be able to refinish a rotor at least a couple of times. We have experience with EBC on commercial duty cars and trucks, and after the pads are worn to the point of replacement , The rotors are worn below discard thickness.

no to argue but with the 2000 series pad I can use 3 set of pads out of a rotor, a good rotor, not one of those economy ones

Ive used the ebc reds and they did dust alot, I switched over to the performance friction rotors and pads and they worked great. They were on the 68 camaro we have tho.

It wasnt really drove a whole lot, but we were cleaning them good atleast once a week.

On the lemans I have hawk ceramics and the centric sport stop rotors (drilled and slotted) and they dont really dust at all.

With Hawk ceramics and new Raybestos rotors up front, and 7/8 S10 wheel cylinders and new drums/shoes in the rear, stopping at the track after trapping 106 wasn't too bad... Got off at the second exit but very impressed with a set of $50 pads and $40 rotors up front.

well i beg to differ i got over 10,000 miles on this setup and it works great and i find little wear on the rotors but it could be im usingt ebc rotors wihich are cad plated with slots and dimples like porchse rotors and with my pads. im glad you dont like spendy stuff i do i show this truck as well and to me it was money well spent stops on the dime everytime. and i just found my bill it was 613.40 shipped to my door pads front and rear were 167.00 and the rest was rotors which 432.00 plus shipping anyhow im happy with my purchase and id do it again. for elko im running autozone duralast ceramic pads with napa zince coated drilled and slotted rotors and it stops fine as well but when im towing 10,000 lobs i want to stop better then the el. good day all

i need to do breaks on the car next summer. they don't work the best after a couple 80 to 0's.......

Like I said before use whatever works for your needs . If you need $900 worth of brakes to get what you need done then that's what you need to do. No worries :|
