The Perma Cool fan that died on me was rated at 2950 and that is one of the highest I have seen with aftermarket fans. It lasted 7 years so no complaints, the bearing went on it and the blades were torn up at the tips.

For my Monte the Intrepid dual fan set up works well and fits a 26" core with very little trimming and I can still slide my mechanical water pump off it's studs without having to remove the fan, something I can't do with a single fan.

That is really tight and those fans fit nice....

I had a Lincoln VIII fan on my Chevelle in the 90's. When I hooked it up I was truly amazed at how powerful it was. I could stand behind my car and feel the air blowing across my legs.

An Intrepid/300M Fan will cool a big block with a blocked off grill in 100 degree trafic with the A/C on. It you soft start in series before switching to parallel, 30 amp fuses are fine. In series they draw less than 6 amps, so they can be on with the key, and have a temp sensor switch them to High speed (parallel) as required.

The High amp draw from a high CFM single is at start up, Once a DC motors gets to its RPM/Volt speed, amp draw drops way down. With a dual fan you can get the fans spinning by having both share 12 volts, then switch them to parallel while they are moving. This 1/2's the instantaneous amp draw.
