installed my custom airbox setup and detailed the engine bay
... tell me what you think
some shots of the airbox
the box is from RamAirBox.com, I didn't like the aluminum tubing they supply, so after some searching I bought some industrial tubing from FlexHaust... 6" tubing is very hard to find, and very expensive.
due to intake height, hood clearance is very tight
no one makes a 2.75" tall filter anymore, which worked with a generic 1.25" drop base... So I used this 1.5" drop base from RamAirBox.com with a 3" tall filter.
it's the largest drop available for a 14" filter that also clears a Holley design and it's linkages.
hood clearance with the box
here's how the box and base look together
box just clears the coil cover, would not work with a large Accel cap
here's my B&M line lock. There is a adjustable proportioning valve on the rear brakes as the OE one is starting to fade.
nice clean rebuild carb
I hooked up a vacuum gauge and fastened to the firewall for convenience when tuning
these electric fans are out of a RoadMaster, relay swtich was deleted and wired so both fans run at the same time. Connected to a 170*F thermo switch
some more engine bay shots
painted my valve covers with VHT wrinkle paint
here's my new skinnies
