if I may ... the chain limits the amount of torque twisting of the engine during hard acceleration. Transfers the lost torque to the rear drive train and increases rear wheel torque.... somebody else might be able to explain it better...lolDennyboy said:looks very cool, the tubing looks alot better than hard tubing i have seen used before. I do have one question, what is the chain for?
kill two birds.... :lol:khan0165 said:thanks for the compliments!
I like the black tubing as well. I am always tinkering under the hood and need the tube to be removable. I was afraid the hard aluminum telescope tubing would break on me.
as Bill said, the chain was added to help engine torque twisting on the rubber mounts... however, it was originally intended as a low-tech solution to keeping the aircleaner from banging up agianst the hood.
please elborate... is this to improve throttle cable tension? stiffer accel pedal?pontiacgp said:Khan, that's a real nice set up and to keep it that way you might want to consider setting up a dual spring return for your throttle.
thanks Joe for the compliments. It's not hard, it just takes a little obsessive compulsiveness and anal retentiveness :wink:JBreu said:Looking good Khan...Now you can come and do my engine bay 🙂 BTW, Where'd the infamous push bumper go????
thanks Volumeshooter. The black tubing was hard to find and expensive in a 6" diameter. However, black tubing in 4" is very common and quite cheap.Volumeshooter said:That is a sweet setup, got me thinking about doing the dual snorkel for mine. The black tubing is definitely an upgrade from the normal aluminum tubing. Nice.
