I see  ooops
... lol... I'm gonna pick one up from the parts store on my way home

looks great khan! gives me some ideas, although I'm running a rochester and bigger accel coil, so I'll have to go slightly different........

Khan, that's a real nice set up and to keep it that way you might want to consider setting up a dual spring return for your throttle.. 🙂
Khan,
I picked this up on E-Bay from SKip WHite Performmance, summit/Jegs also sell them and it's a direct fit for the Holley carb...

I am also running a Accel coil, used to have the big Accel cap too... but it turns out a stock cap fits right ontop the big coil anyways. And if you're set on keeping the cap, I've also seen the same airbox cut on the back and refibreglassed.

Thanks Joe, my linkage seems to be a little different. I wonder if it will work there... does the linkage bracket bolt onto the throttle linkage arm? Where does the main braket bolt onto?... intake?

Khan, we use the same set up JBrue has on our holly 2 barrel on the race car and we have the same base you have so it should work....

the other thing with the distributor you might want to look at the MSD E Curve, it has a remote coil and a small cap. It also have the vacuum advance and curve set up digitally plus it has an adjustable rev limiter

k, I looked up that throttle spring bracket on Jegs, seems very simple. Thanks for the suggestion!

and yeah, that MSD E-curve is AWESOME! I've been reading up on it over the past few months. Still trying to find someone who used it on a similar engine to mine, to see the improvements they made over, say a Accel setup like mine.

oh, an my brother just got a MSD 6AL-2 programable box, and I can't wait to see that in action!

looks very cool, the tubing looks alot better than hard tubing i have seen used before. I do have one question, what is the chain for?
if I may ... the chain limits the amount of torque twisting of the engine during hard acceleration. Transfers the lost torque to the rear drive train and increases rear wheel torque.... somebody else might be able to explain it better...lol

Lol, the chain is a safety measure, in case your motor mount breaks on hard acceleration!

If your mounts are so loose you are losing torque, I would invest in some better mounts...

You see these a lot on other makes that don't use the clamshell type mount because if the mount breaks the entire motor tries to spin in the engine compartment. I had this happen on a '63 dodge 440, once, and it crushed the starter.

The engine bay looks great.

But may i make one suggestion it might be time to remove the manual choke cable seeing how you milled off choke tower. I dont see how you slackers missed that one. Lol

I get that alot... it's actually hooked onto the fast idle circuit. So on a cold start, I flick the lever over and I got her sitting at 1300rpm till idle stabalizes.
