Engine block mounts?

I don't think so, pretty sure the're all the same, but I've never pulled a Chevy engine before. Lets see what everyone else says. Maybe shotgun will make a smartass remark again to make us both look like idiots. lol

It's best to cover your *ss and get some block mounts out of another SBC (267 or 305) powered G-body.

The mounts can vary in height, especially between passenger cars and trucks, causing the motor to sit too high and the fan will hit the top of the shroud.

you need g-body mounts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
trust me i went through this. me and my brother both thought the brackets were all the same. so i used the ones on my 350/383. yes i got them to fit but it really sucked. i eventually got a set of proper ones and they DROPPED in. it's more than the height of the engine (though mine definitely sits lower now.) the mounts also wind up farther apart. if you do a search you should find the part numbers if you want new ones, or just search the junkyards.

Just go to your local parts store and tell them you want 87 Monte SS engine mounts.Thats what I did for my SBC cutlass swap and had no issues whatsoever. They were like 6 bux brand new.

is that the mounts or the clamshells? i just realized that i may not have been talking about the right ones myself.
the rubber mounts with the split steel shell that bolts to the frame are universal to the SBC 350/cars. but the steel mounts that bolt to the engine do vary from body to body.
the rubber/clamshells are available, the engine brackets are rather hard to find.

Sorry, maybe I labeled it wrong. I got the clamshell mounts, I was speaking about the brackets that are on the block that attach to the clamshell mounts.
