Engine idling rough.

I dunno, my 3.8 was running VERY smooth with high vacuum like 21" right before the crankshaft broke. It was an 83' minus all computer controls, with an older non-CCC HEI and Dualjet carb I got at junkyards. It was so quiet you forgot it was on.
 
Some simple things. Pull the carb, and check the throttle plate screws-the ones accessed from underneath.(carb style assumption on my part) Be sure their tight. The supply port for the dist vacuum advance, should be zero at idle. I've seem these crossed with other full vacuum ports. If so, the timig is then set wrong. The old vac advance itself needs to be checked with some sort of syphen device. :roll: Hope this helps.
