I am putting a chevy 350 in my 1986 cutlass and i am having some difficulty getting the engine mount housing to line up with the holes on the engine mounts. i got the driver side to line up but the passenger side won't line up. I am using chevy small block engine mounts and i dont see what else there is to do. Appreciate help with issue!

you need to use mounts from a car if you use mounts from a truck 350 they sit a little higher and dont line up right.

mount's

i hope no one gets mad at me for jumping on this thread......

termanalogy means everything to some of us old guys

down here we call the piece that bolts to the engine block a clam shell

the mount bolts to the frame.that said we need to know if you replaced the mounts on the frame and did you move them to the small block holes on the frame???.... also are you just putting the motor in by its self, or are you trying to line up the trans at the same time??...jesse

Engine Mount Trouble!!!

Yeah i guess you call it diffrent... we call the mount that bolts to the crossmember a clamshell because it looks like a clamshell......the part that bolts to the engine block is called the the mount housing. well anyways i replaced the mounts on the crossmember and moved them forward to fit for the chevy small block. And i also put mount housing on the engine block since it didn't have any. I didn have any because this was a brand new chevy crate engine. I was told that i needed some slip pad mounts that could be adjusted to fit. i just dont know where to find them.

mount

it's easier when where on the same page, how did you fiqure out getting that front bolt on the clam shell :x

did you use poly mounts,i put a set on my car and had some trouble getting the pass side hooked up.

are you stabing the trans at the same time?

what engine did the monte carlo have that you got the clamshells from?
