Why is the drivers side bracket so far forward? It looks like it is close to flush with the front of the block. I have a 350 on a stand and laid a bracket on there and the front of the bracket is 3" from the front of the block.

Try switching the the top mounts on the block to opposite sides( I don't know why, but it worked for me once when all elae failed) and maybe pushing the inserts in the frame mount up with a pry bar. If you can get one side lined up and a bolt through it then the other should follow suit with some finessing and brute encouragement, but if something is incorrect you'll be able to tell.

Umi Mounts work. Still a very tight fit with prying required.
