He got a quote yesterday from the local machine shop that was outright ridiculous. We're looking for a bare block to machine for the new-ish .030 over pistons then swap everything over with new rings and bearings. If nothing turns up we can always swap in the engine from the blue boat but it's got quite a few hours on it. I'd rather see him sell it off.Well, duh. Look at the exhaust ports, and it's not a big block.
How about here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARINE-Ford-351W-5-8-Short-Block-1975-1983-Reverse-Rotation/251268281985
Shipping may be a deal breaker, but I bet an automotive 351 Windsor block will work...the yards ought to have one of those...it looks like you kept the lifters sorted by cam lobe, can they be re-run?
Do it, these are what I see as the last sporty looking B bodies cause that back window. They scream for a BBC, do have stronger rear axle options, police upgrades for better brakes & suspension. It's not as shiny and has different wheels now. Should I save it?
