My 70 GS has run 12.70's and my little 350 just motors around it.

Would be a closer race I think, but the 350 should take it.. The 76 455 was pretty pathetic though with the open chamber heads. The Holley will clear up a few ponies. The edelbrock intake is only worth weight savings since the original was pretty good flowing.

It had less than 200hp if I remember right. Torque is what is going to help that 455 win, and it doesn't have the tools to lay down the power.

Like I said, buicks win races in the first half of the track.

Still on your side - Would like to know your combo and why your shifting so high!
to be honest, we bought the engine. Had a spun rod bearing. Bought a scat stroker crank for $20 threw it in there, pistons luckily dont hit. I have a holley 3310 with 70 jets. Not sure about the cam. But i can tell you it has enough power to get it to 3000 but once its at 3000 it'll slam you into the seat. And along with shifting so high it keeps the rpms high going into the next gear. So its doggy until 3k in first gear and then its hard to keep up with.

70 jets? If by 70 you mean .070" that seems kinda small for a high rpm engine doesnt it? But I guess if it works dont mess with it

Yeah it originally had 72's or .072's. But everytime i started it after it was hot it kept flooding over and wouldnt stay running unless i took it down the road.

You changed my mind !! -I'm going with your father. I thought you had a built 327 and you really don't know whats in it. A stroker crank ?? You need a converter and that flooding is float level or needle and seats, unless your fuel pressure is high.

We'll see at the track
