I remember a B rated movie from the 90s with Richard Grieco and he raced a Mustang. Born to Run. It's a little cheesy but if it's got drag racing and old cars in it, I'll watch it. I really liked the old movie Hot Rod.
On another note, check out youtube if your an American Graffitti fan. A guy named Herve Attia went to the shooting locations and he matches spots in the film.
