Favorite/Least Favorite Things about G-Body Cars

Great looking cars with V8, rear wheel drive. Usable rear seat with a full size trunk. Get a lot of looks whenever I have it out. Very anemic stock. Crappy frame.

Could not have said it better. Plus you can work on them yourself thanks to being low tech and I always felt the G bodies were good cars to teach others basic repairs. I taught my nephew how to do brakes using my car. He learned quickly how much nicer it is doing disk brakes and not drums!

I'm not convinced that is an upgrade. Those cars are only available V6 correct? An AWD 4100lb six cylinder car sounds like a recipe for boredom. FCA isn't exactly known for producing quality vehicles either. Kinda like a Gbody without any of the positive aspects.

Yeah, the Challenger (and all LXs, for that matter) are pretty porky. The Pentastar 3.6 is a decent engine for what it is, but it’s no fireball. Main attraction of the Challenger GT is the AWD traction. Would be nice if you could get the AWD with the 5.7 or 6.4 Hemi.
The rear wheel drive versions with the 3.6/8 speed run mid 14's in the 1/4 mile. It will still be quicker than my current 3.5/5 speed auto. Which put a beating on a base Camaro on the highway, which is where it really shines. We have so many open miles here which are icy 1/2 the year. Talking to owners, they like them a lot.

It's worth noting that the Camaro 3.6 L peaks at 308 HP. More than a TPI 350 back in the day....
