Finishing 1 back on another

Originally the battery was located under the cab floor, but when I ran dual exhaust that pretty much eliminated anyplace under the cab or bed to mount the battery. That left putting the battery in the bed of the truck. I really didn't like the look of a stainless or aluminum battery box (and a plastic one was totally out of the question). I figured an old tool box would not look too out of place in the bed however, so that's what ended up serving as a place for the battery. As it turns out there is even still enough room to put a hand full of tools in it LOL.
Nice! Even the 'battery box' has the appropriate patina! (You give me hope that I can get back to my projects when my life choices start to cut me a break too.)

I need to get the tires for the 37 so I can start dialing in the front end alignment. I decided to go ahead and temporarily throw the front fenders back on and roll the truck back outside so I could see how I liked the sizes I currently have on it. In the end I decided I’m going to go down one size on the rear to get a little more rear fender clearance and take a little rake out of it.

Before I pull the fenders back off I decided to take care of a couple of other things before I get back to the alignment. The first job was to get a piece of flat stock and build a front bumper bracket so I could mount a downsized front pumper on it.

I also decided to get the exhaust cutouts run out thru the fenders.

The cutouts are mechanical and I still have to figure out if I’m going to run them with cables or build a mechanical linkage.

So not a bad week.

thing is lookin great!

I ended up having to get a new video editing program and today had some time to play with it. I practiced on a short video of the 37. It's not real polished, but I thought some might get a kick out of hearing the old truck run.
