Fishing (2020)

I am picking up a 2020 1600 Fury Tiller in Black next week. I paid for the third pedestal seat, comes with two, has a spots for three. Has all the power hook ups for trolling motors, side rod storage, floor storage and an aerated live well. They had a brand new, still with warranty 2013 Mercury 25 HP EFI four stroke out board, I HATE 2 strokes, saved some money, it is going on. Also got the heavier duty Karavan trailer. What out fish, we will be coming for you.

2 full summers now the only water my boat has seen is when it rains in the driveway ! ! Summer before that I had to do all the bellows hoses and gimble bearing repair which only gave me 2 weeks to the season. Still not bad for a $1000 boat. Just wish I made more time to take it out

Boat=bust off another thousand. But its worth it. Were going crappie fishing tommorow morning. Got all our poles relined and ready to go. Its a fishing only trip. Its too cold for tubing and skiing.

Boat = A hole in the water you dump money into.

I had one... 18ft. Open Bow Fish-n-Ski.. It was fun. Expensive, but fun.

One day a guy came up and asked if it was for sale, and of course, everything on the planet is for sale for the right price. He said the right price, and I haven't had a boat since.

Its like a Motorcycle. Once you have had one, you understand.. and if you Don't have one from that point forward, it feels weird.

I sold my Lund 18 ft skiff over the winter. I had it for 31 years and my kids grew up in it. Good times! Now I have a small 15' Whaler and it is all I need for Fluke, Bass and Blues. My grandson and I launched it a few weeks ago but the water is still pretty cold so no fish yet. We were out last evening and the water as 54° with no signs of life. Some guys came back in after us with some Blues but they were farther down the Channel from where we were fishing so that is good news. The warmer it gets it should bust open soon.

Rain, rain, rain.... I know- the fish don't care-they are already wet! So I showed my grandson how to tie up some Fluke rigs. We have a dozen ready with glow skirts and maybe after the holiday we can get out there. Even with the current situation I avoid the water on major holidays.IMG_5126.JPG
