We went to Lake Defenbaker today, caught one little Pike, a follow up and a few bites. We got there just as They dropped the level so low that most launch of Tommy Douglas Provincial Park was unusable. We went pretty much in the middle between the two dams which are about 60 km apart. This is a massive 225 km long reservoir and extremely deep, averages 70 ft deep, 217 ft deep when full. I had no trouble finding 100+ foot depth. We need to spend a week there and try a few spots. I really need to tie my boat to the Konrad twins boat or pay for their guide services. They have set a ridiculous amount of Provincial and World Records for Rainbow, Burbot and Brown Trout on Defenbaker. There are also Lake Trout, Lake Sturgeon along with Walleye, Sauger, Pike along with every common river species we have plus Whitefish and Atlantic Salmon. Supposedly 10 pound trout are commonly caught, along with big Walleye and Pike.
