Fishing 2021

We went to Lake Defenbaker today, caught one little Pike, a follow up and a few bites. We got there just as They dropped the level so low that most launch of Tommy Douglas Provincial Park was unusable. We went pretty much in the middle between the two dams which are about 60 km apart. This is a massive 225 km long reservoir and extremely deep, averages 70 ft deep, 217 ft deep when full. I had no trouble finding 100+ foot depth. We need to spend a week there and try a few spots. I really need to tie my boat to the Konrad twins boat or pay for their guide services. They have set a ridiculous amount of Provincial and World Records for Rainbow, Burbot and Brown Trout on Defenbaker. There are also Lake Trout, Lake Sturgeon along with Walleye, Sauger, Pike along with every common river species we have plus Whitefish and Atlantic Salmon. Supposedly 10 pound trout are commonly caught, along with big Walleye and Pike.

I was winning today, then reality set in😳. We were about tied and I caught the lone Walleye. 20210610_115814.jpgThey started releasing water and my Wife saw a big Sturgeon come to the top. Then she caught these Pike.

How is your engine coming along?
My block should be ready for pick up and the Mahle pistons and other parts from Cutlassefi should be shipping this week. Once they arrive I will drop them off so the 330 crank be balanced. Now this pertains to this thread. I wanted to pick it up on Thursday. It is my day off, since I work Saturday. She wants to drive 3.5 hours to Thunder Rapids that day. I told her, sure but you have to take my truck and pick up my block on Friday. See even my Oldsmobile has to work around fishing. I am taking another week of holidays, I will probably get the two days when my Wife goes back to work on the last weekend of my holidays to work on my motor. Yes, fishing cuts in on my Oldsmobile time😉.

Maybe 20ish fish day at Thunder Rapids. This was the best of the day, I let my Wife hold it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it😉.
