I am replacing my floor pan in my 82 Cutlass. I was wondering if anyone knew what the piece inside the door sill above the pan is called. I have a pic. My new pan does not come up all the way. Is it something that can be ordered or needs to be fabricated. Thanks!

I'm not sure but I would say that is considered part of the rocker panel.

The new floor pan should cover that area also. We at least the one I purchased did.

82 Cutty, Where did you purchase your floor? Picture of new floor panel...?
Roddarius, where did you purchase tour floor? Picture of new floor panel...?

CardID.com. There is a factory seam line where it is welded about 4 or 5 inches below the inner rockers. I think grandamman got me what I need.

It looks like there is an inner and outer rocker, the piece you're looking for to me seems to weld to the inner rocker and drop off to the floor pan. I did a front patch on my passenger side floor and the pan I used is attached to that dropoff. On my drivers side, I had some rust on the drop right behind the seatbelt mount, i cut it out and there's also an inner reinforcement welded behind it. The inner piece had some scale but cleaned up and is solid, the outer was a small enough section where I just fabbed up a patch. I've seen floorpans and the rockers but if these floor drops and reinforcements are being made my feeble searches have not found them.

Yes! Exactly. Although, I may need inner rockers, it wasn't what I was initially looking for as you have pointed out. You're right about not being able to find them. I fear they will have to be fabricated as you have done.
