Flywheel weight...what's the right choice?

2.41x3.50=8.4 final drive ratio in 1st gear. Might be o.k. I don't think I would pair a lightweight flywheel with it.

2.73x3.50=9.5 is much better. What is your tire size? Assuming a 26 inch tire, you would turn 2800 RPM at 80 which is pretty managable. 2100 RPM at 60.

I have 245 45 17 so that puts me at around 25.7 I'm comfortable with that rpm range too. I'm going to go with that used set of gears and replace the bearing and races, Ill be ordering 28 spline axles as well. I just don't want to put too much strain on the drivetrain so I'm gonna go with the general wisdom and go with a higher gear ratio and while I'm at make the rear end stronger. So I'll have to put the swap on hold for now.

Bought the torsen and 2.73 ring and pinion....ill be ordering axles tomorrow! Kinda excited for this! I've never driven a V8 car with a posi differential....haha :doh:
