I am a FNG here, but, I have been a car guy with G-bodies for a while.
My first G-body was an '82 Cutlass that I put a '71 455 Olds TH350 and 3.73 into. (I have a junkyard secret for dual exhaust manifolds...Olds guys!)
Then an '87 Regal, 455 Buick TH400 and big duals.
Bought an '80 Malibu on Jan. 1st, its got a roller 350 SBC out of an '89 pickup, wearing a Q-jet, had a burnt up TH200 in it, I just added a TH350. Its waaaaay cool, 25K on the clock, needs new paint and a front seat cover.
Here are pics, it came with the 'vette wheels, I added the 17 inch Torque Thrust II's but, I change them around. It will go rat and stick shift.
Uh, do these need a unique bell housing?
On another note, I got an '83 Regal I am adding a mild Buick 350 to as well. It will sport a small plate and some flo's, and the obligatory 3.42's or 3.73's from an S-10. Thats it in the background of the pick, along with another donor car Buick with a 455 in it.
Anybody do the driveshaft swap from the GM Trailblazer to have an aluminum driveshaft yet? I was looking when I did the trans on the Malibu, it was like 3/8ths of an inch shorter....?
What about the late S-10 two piston front caliper conversion?
Anybody else using an F-body posi with 8.5 axles?
