Frame off: Body mount alignment

Since I'm also in the middle of a Frame Off I looked up how to put it back together. I think it was on here in fact.

There are alignment holes in the front LH side (by emerg brake area) and rear RH side (by rear mount). Use two 5/8 round bars to line up body and frame. That should get you close enough to measure it out perfect.

I wish I knew that before I measured countless times to get it straight.....

When I worked at the dealer in the body shop in the late 80s we had different color body alignment pins that would correspond to different holes located all over the body .. if you look around the cars there are holes on each panel to align body parts using pins .. they used same type technique on the production line .. but with no measurements that's why the body's where all over the place .. lol

I use a pointed pinch bar to get it lined up and then start a bolt leave it loose and move to the next one after I have them all started I let the body rest all it's weight on the bushings because the frame will flex under the pressure then I mesure everything I can to get it straight and nail it!

You all are great!

Didn't torque everything down just yet as I'm not fully done tweaking it yet. Measured in several places, mostly along the rockers and it came out pretty straight without much fuss.
