question is why and I hope you used a jig to keep the chassis from twisting and/or moving and to align the tubes. Why not build a tubular chassis and attach the front clip to it. Also will the floor pans fit with the tubing

Those pics are not my frame, just looking for addition info before I start. I want to be well prepared. before I cut. Not looking to change the frame, just add a few supports.

For boxing the frame, I would try to make the hole for the body mount hardware as small as possible to maintain stiffness. A hole cutter to the bottom for a socket should work just fine, no need for that large hole for a wrench.

All of the added tubing probably doesn't help as much as it could. It's not a great allocation of mass. You want something with a high moment of inertia about a horizontal axis through its cross section. In other words, you want it as tall as possible which will be limited by whether you plan to modify the floor pans. I don't think you necessarily need a jig just to add bracing like that, but the frames are incredibly flimsy in stock form, so be sure it's straight before welding it up.

your need that access hole to put the lower part of the body bushing in place, plus that access hole will not diminish the strength added by the boxing.

I'm trying to find large File pics of the El Camino Frame Diagram. I tried to have them printed 24x36 for a reference.

1. I like the rear supports in first couple of pics, just trying to find the best solution for the main frame.
