i like cheap one piece aluminum wheels. i also like 20'' wheels. they both look good/go fast.

Please explain the 2nd half .... how do 20" rims make you go fast?

He didn't say "they make you go fast" he said they both look good and they both go fast..

Meaning your performance is not lost because you run 20's

guess I am still missing something here then ... what part of performance are you maintaining with 20s? The weight takes more power to turn and well frankly I have yet to see a "Donk" that can make a "normal" turn ... much less take one at speed.

I would argue that 20"s would actually slow you down. For one the rotating weight is usually more and rotating weight is always more hurting to performance than body weight. Also the larger size is less capable of putting the power to the ground because the engine has to turn a larger diameter wheel and looses "leverage" Think gear ratios, smaller gear transmits more power than a larger gear.

A lot of the new generation "muscle cars" are coming from the factory with 20's and it doesn't seem to hurt the performance that much. Even supercars that are tuned to the limits are coming with 20's. With advances in technology, a lot of 20's are light that most 15's were twenty years ago.

Still ... based on tire selection and just the fact of fitting them in the car, I'm going to go with some 17's I think. Although I am throwing the idea of an 18 around still.

so extra weight would slow a car down ... interesting ... I wsa going to tie one of these to my frame

I doubt it will hamper my handling or acceleration.

I don't think I'm sticking my neck out there too far ... "light 20s" like carbon fiber are the exception not the rule. New cars have 20s/22s/24s and beyond because that is what society seems to have drifted towards. Not because it's a performance gain. Those cars are also designed with these tire/rim combos .... not 25" tall/14" x 7" rims

Do you know what a "donk" is? probally not atleast it doesn't sound like it.

A donk is a lifted car just cause you put 20's on a g-body does not make it a donk..

I have 20" irocs on my 1978 monte carlo and it's lowered about 2" and sits lower than it came from the factory.. No rubbing at all with a car load of people and I can turn at full lock as well..

Have you ever owned 20's on a g-body cause you talk about them like you know everything there is too know about em..
