gas tank fitment

Will a gas tank froma 84 monte carlo fit in an 81 cutlass? Was told filler neck is 1" longer on certain model years.

I would just buy a new tank they do not cost very much,you can get a tank that is made in Canada that is as good as OEM.I'm big on using factory parts when I restore a car,but this is one part that I like to be new for the time and money I have found it cheep just buy a new tank. I only would buy a US or Can made tank good steal and well made.
