Gbody Lower Control Arms and Spindles - same as S10 and Blazer?

Lefthander has 1+ lower ball joints as well, I picked them up on sale for 25$ a pop

One thing to remember if you use stock lowers with a tall ball joint you will need to get rid of the lip on the lower control arm. The lip on the lower control arm rides in the cavity between the hub and rotor with a stock ball joint. When you use a tall lower ball joint that raises rotor so the lip will ride on the face of of the rotor and cut a groove in it.

I've resourced a set of Blazer spindles and he said he should have them ready to ship to me next week. I plan to see if the 2017 heavy duty Corvette hubs will bolt in. I work for Speedtech who manufactures the ATS AFX spindles and that's the hubs we use in them. I'll post up when I get to that point.

My research shows the S10 spindles have shorter steering arms than the G body which will also change the ratio a little and give a slightly faster steering feel.

I dont think this is correct.

Not trying to argue, Im just pretty sure they are the same.

Unless you mean the Blazer spindles (sealed bolt on hub), which is possible but as far as i know S10 2wd spindles (hubbed rotor) are the same as a G body.

Belltech 2101, I dont think they have a vendor that offers the stock height spindle

Guys, on Summits site which part number is for the Blazer spindles? Want to get them for my conversion. Thanks

I have a complete blazer set. up spindles and all. Shoot me a pm if interested.

Earlier this year I bought a '78 Monza station wagon, and in research found lots of folks have used S10 spindles to convert to 5 lug. Some folks asked about using G body spindles but several tech drawings and pics were posted showing the steering arm was longer for the G-Body and made turning slow and lazy, so the S10 was the better way to go. Honestly I don't remember if it was Blazer with the sealed hub specific or all S10 spindles.

1st gen Camaros have 3 (I think) different GM bolt on steering arm part numbers, the shortest ones were on Z28s to give more responsive steering. Some companies like Classic Industires sell the short arms to get that extra edge. If the H body Vega/Monza guys were right, that's a built in cool advantage for us to use the S10s. I have a set of DJM 2" drop S10 spindles, I'll soon have the Blazer spindles, and I am saving pennies for a set of ATS spindles. When I get them all I plan to do a geometry comparison and will include measurements for overall height, steering arm length, wheel mount surface center compared to lower ball joint and steering arm location, bumpsteer, caster, etc. There's a lot of rumors, guessing and opinions floating around on the internet so I will soon have the means to clear some of that up.

I know there is 3 arms for the different cars those spindles came on, A body, X body, and F body.

Id like to see how the mustang II / pinto spindle compares. Thats one of the go to's for circle track guys with Chevelle clips, its just a tick shorter than a metric and has shorter steering arms, there is also a version with more kingpin angle.

The Speedway 3 piece metric spindles have an optional shorter arm that is supposed to be identical to the mustang 2 arm length. Guys are also using a astro drop spindle on asphalt.
