I'm looking at purchasing 2 items from GBodyParts.com right now and I had a few questions I was hoping maybe some people here on the forum could answer. Item number one is the 1591 Burgandy (Oxblood) interior carpet. The carpet can be purchased with or without the rubber backing although it is a $90-something option. Should I get this rubber backing and why?

Item number two is the 9-Piece Trunk Carpeting Kit also in Burgandy (Oxblood). Does anyone have one of these? How does it fit/look/hold up?

I would suggest getting it. if you remove an original carpet youll find that it does have rubber backing. Getting a rubber backed carpet keeps outside noises well...outside. may be a but firm to fit at first but it definitely takes original shape

It's just another climate issue. Here in Indiana we try our best but no matter how hard we try its impossible to avoid accumulating large amounts of pools of water w/ road salt in the floorpans of the car. Without that rubber backing a Chicago / NY/ Boston winter would allow endless moisture to be trapped between wet carpet and floor board resulting in terminal rust after only 1 or 2 seasons. To a California/ Miami/ TX person this all sounds ridiculous and absurd - especially if they have never lived through a real winter season. I've lived in Cali and lived here. If I was back in Cali I would skimp on the carpeting and save $90. I would not even consider ordering carpeting w/o the rubber backing now that I'm in Indiana though.

I just purchased ACC carpet with the mass backing from an online vendor that was very helpful. Excellent color match and fit. The mass backing is primarily designed for heat and noise insulation but also helps the carpet keep it shape. Now that I have tried both, I will never buy it again without the mass backing.

I also went with the ACC carpet with mass backing, as recommended. .you won't regret it.

Where are you located - I'm taking a Regal "T" type apart (see parts for sale) and have a burgundy carpet for buckets and console for $10.00

I'm in PA but my car doesn't have a console. I appreciate it anyway.

Glad I found this since I was JUST researching my carpet options today. I will be buying the mass backed carpet. Now I have to just get slithers for the little areas by the back seat of the wagon...

I've heard the ACC carpet has fitment issues. Any input on that would be helpful. I have to get carpet as well and have found a couple vendors that say they make their own in house. I wonder about color match with that though.

I think that if a company really wants your business, they'll be willing to send you color swatches of their product. Last fall, I ordered a headliner from StockInteriors.com, part of the reason I bought from them is they sent me a number of swatches (for free) so I could be certain I'd be ordering the right color.
