Thanks Guys!
As I mentioned, I've owned it for 19 years and the only paint work done in that time has been brush touch-up. If you get your nose up close, you'll see it suffers from many of the maladies that plague old lacquer paint, checking, crazing etc. Someday I may finally pull the trigger on new paint, but then it won't be the "survivor" that it is now.
I owe a lot to Mike Phillips from AutoGeek, who counseled me on single-stage paint restoration. You may have seen his promo spots on "Two Guys Garage" or "My Classic Car". He is a true guru of paint restoration and the article he eventually wrote for AutoTrader Classics : http://www.autotraderclassics.com/c...aint:+Part+1-65310.xhtml?conversationId=21363 should be required reading for anyone desiring to bring their old GM paint back from a near-dead condition.
Once again, thanks.

Bill

Guess ill try posting this here being my car is "factory stock"

1986 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme brougham i purchased 10 years ago as my first car with 89,*** miles as my daily driver, i am the 3rd owner of the car. Converted the 60/40 bench to the bucket seats with the center console with the floor shifter and i added the power seat rack to the drivers side that was originally there. Still has the 307 engine mated to a 2004-r trans with the highway gears.
