Damn I notice you're from BC yourself, is this your frame? 😀 😀 😀 Thanks for the tip either way. Would you happen to know any shops which do frame swaps for under a grand? I am really not in a position to be able to do a frame swap my self, neither am I experienced enough. But I am willing to do what it takes to save this car, that's what I believe this forum is all about keeping these cars alive

If you're in BC, then I think you should just scrap it...Ill be happy to take this burden from you...

What you could do is try to remove the body yourself, not completely off, just get it unbolted and lifted a touch to stick some spacers between. That way you can get a good look at any damage to the frame, mounts and underbody. Snap some picks and post em up and some people can add some more specific advise.

Usually the body rusts out badly before the frame becomes that bad. With a frame swap you are probably going to have to deal with frozen body mount bolt and may find hidden rust.
Maybe! But the thing is, this car has been garage kept for 20 years. That's why I'm surprised and disappointed about the frame rust.. I am not a welder by any means. But I would hate to see the car go. I hate the idea of parting out cars. It's like ripping limbs off people to me 😛

That may be the problem then. I have heard that humid, heated garages are worse than storing a car outdoors. That a car can rust out much faster in a humid garage. A garage should have alot of ventilation and either not heated or use dry heating. Garage humidity is a very nasty and overlooked problem. You want to keep garage air as dry as possible and not to trap in high humidity.

Like with barn finds, barns tend to be poorly sealed and in bad shape and have alot of ventilation because of ths. This helps keep the barn kept car from rusting out.

I'm thinking about selling it to someone who would be happy to take it. Scrapping the project, not the car. I am from the fraser valley. PM me.

Thanks man. Appreciate it.

Just had to.........................................

I decided I will keep the car till I have the money to get the frame done. How much am I looking at to get the whole body lifted and frame replaced?
VS just getting the rear frame rails done?.

I would get a hole frame if I was you.a couple years back a friend of mine who has a body shop.called me to work on regal for him.the guy wanted to change out the back frame part.he had the car at his shop for some time and said its all it needed that and the trunk floor repaired.anyways after we back half the car.I took a look at the front just too see.and it was all soft and I could put my finger through everywhere
