It's actually got "442" in the VIN. haha

One thing that concerns me though is the driver's front frame rail. Looks crunched in/folded a bit at the bumper absorber mounting point. That may be something easy or something not so easy. At least get a frame shop to check it.

That looks like more work then I want to get involved with.... but it could be done. Good luck with it.

Since you have a title, you may have an easier time getting this retitled. Hope you can locate the previous owner. As for the lien, you need to prove the lean is paid off. I went through that on my 442, the owner had paid off the car years before, but couldn't find the paperwork. He finally found it, and showed that the title was clean, and got a new title. Couldn't help but notice that the chrome breather lid is in the seat...those are hard to find, and costly when you do find them. Looks like you got a real find there...get the title straightened out and restore it! Can't wait to see how it turns out. You sure didn't get hurt on this find!

Yeah but if the lien isn't that much, he probably can pay it off or go to the person or company who has a lien on it and try and make a settlement. Most people will be willing to work with you on it.

going in the morning to dmv, ill keep u all posted. if i can get a title, ill be needing some parts, header emblem, front lower spoiler, top plate for shifters, and a left side rear wing tip. i also got the trunk open cant believe it, no rust no were, not even in trunk lid area. i can safe to say, its a rust free trunk lid.

i did try get hold of the previous owner, i found out he is a outlaw. been arrested numerous times from dui to carrying concealed deadly weapon. i called his home address, they guy that answered the phone sound surprised and said theres nobody lives here with that name????also there no lien on the car, and the title is still active.

i emailed Frankfort today DMV, hopefully they will email me back with some answers.

Idk, how y'all do up y'all's way but here in Mississippi most people don't even sign the title over to the new owner. Here we give the buyer the title and they usually just sign it on both lines ourselves, date it and take it to the DMV. Even better that you don't have a lien on it.

yeah i noticed that also, before i bought it. it looks good for under the hood and around the top a frame area??? that a good ideal. could i do some measurement from my other cutlass and tell that way? i think it ok thou.

Sounds like you might've made it out ok on the title. Good deal. Lol on the previous owner, maybe this was his get a way car back in '95. The frame horn doesn't look to be bent in or twisted, crooked to me, just looks like the metal is crunched in around it. You should be able to heat it & make it look right. But yeah, measure & compare it with your other cutlass to be sure.

Hope you don't get too much grief from the DMV on the title. Sounds like your making headway on it. I'm always glad to see people saving the classics instead of crushing them.
