Got into an accident

So I got a quote and it was 4000 definatly going to do it myself. I'm either going to buy a brand new quarter for 400 or try and find a donor car for 500 or 600 and then part it out or scrap it.

They were going to replace the quarter panel and then blend the paint to match and no I haven't got any other quotes I was on my way to now someone's lawn and the collision place was on the way. It was like 918 for parts 41.4 hours for body work which was 2000 then 500 or so for paint then tax seems pretty spent I could buy a nice gbody for 4 grand lol

X2 -I NEVER let them know insurance is involved. They charge to the hilt when they think someone else is paying.

no disrespect meant but in my opinion your car is too nice to use it to learn how to do body work. Do you have any friends in the business who could help you?

$4000 to replace the 1/4 panel and blend the paint into the door and roof is way to much money. That is what is called highway robbery! 40 some hours to replace the 1/4 is way to much. A good bodyman could have the panel cut off and the new one put back on in a day, maybe a day an a half. Then maybe between 6 - 10 hours to refinish.
My Regal got hit last September, the whole drivers side was damaged. Fender, door and quarter were all caved in and the total hours for repair and refinish was under 30 hours ,and that was with time to do a tri-stage paint. Total estimate was $2700, and I didn't replace any panels.
Heres a pic of the damage

X2 on this. If not you should ask around to see if you can find a good bodyman who would be interested in doing this at home. I'm not trying to discourage you from doing it yourself but if you don't really know what you are doing you could end up with a nightmare on your hands.
pontiacgp is right. Your car is to nice to learn how to do bodywork.

If I could afford to pay someone to do it I would but my problem is money I don't have enough to fix it I'm guessing it'll be around 2000 or a little more to get it all done and I don't have no where near that much money to fix it. I have to pay for college and what not. I wouldn't mind getting someone to just put a new panel on it and then save up some money later on and get it painted I will see and call around to some places.
