Been watching this site for a while but for whatever reason I just now registered. DUH! Anyway, I really HATE the dash in this thing and any Chevy from this time. S-10, Montie, Camino. Always have. What I'm looking for is an '82 and up Grand Prix Dash. That way I can swap in real gauges for all the idiot lights. Has anyone tried this and how hard do you think it would be? I've already got the small three gauge panel in the car. Just trying to find the complete dash now. Scroungers work is never done.

Welcome aboard! Installing a GP dash in a Malibu is nothing new, and has been done many times. I also plan on installing a GP dash in my wagon...and yes, they are great for aftermarket gauge placement.

Post some pics of your wagon. we all love pics on this site. 🙂

Here's how it would look in your wagon..and mine. Pretty slick with the engine turn finish bezel, huh?

ExCEllent cond(no cracks,or tears/holes) gp dash shell(grey) from an 85 gp-275.00 shipped.you will NOT find a better one for price.I also have gauges,pm me if interested.

I put a GP dash in my Monte 2 years ago. I agree on the ugly stock chevy dashes from that era. I got the dash in perfect shape from a canadian member on here for $130 shipped. Obviously it was just a bare dash pad and gauge bezel, no gauges, or ac controls. If you are doing an aftermarket gauge setup then that is all you would need which is why I bought it. The swap is a very easy direct bolt in.

Thanks for contributing some more pics to the thread. The dash looks killer in your Monte...nice job! 8)

Steve,
I'm sure the owner of this Malibu wagon wouldn't have minded that I borrowed the image of his dash...

There are other cool Pontiac GP dash options like this. A '78 gauge set w/'79-'80 silver dash bezel in an '83 wagon.
