I swear there should be an “aborted-LS-swap” FB group for how many I see. Most from people who are in over their heads and thought they could do a swap for $40 in parts but this guy seemed to know what he was doing.
 
It's relatively easy to plug together some parts on a stand.

But once you need to get them into the car, and you see how much banging and welding there is, and you learn these cars weren't built by computerized robots on jigs with nearly identical clearances from one car to the next like most modern cars...

Well, it's all of a sudden a different story. Then you start seeing how much everything REALLY costs, well, there's no reason to be that surprised by the orphans.

Shame really when you consider the car though.. .
