"Grand Nasty"

I like the car. The only issue I have is if they truly did start with a pristine 4000 mile survivor. There's gotta be another pretty glean GN that got modded to hell early on that could have been built the same way.
I went back and read it... WHAT? 4,000 miles? Man this guy sucks.

I mean really in terms of appearance, pretty much the grille and what... the door handle color? Some weird visual differences like that. Plus, around where I live they cost the same, so might as well go 87.

Wait what?

Door handle color? Do mean the interior door strap pull screw covers? The door handle on an '86 and black like an '87.

Be best visual difference is '86's weren't all jackedup up in the air like other G-bodys, including '87 GN's:

Factory Right height on my 1986 GN.

The best factory ride height of every G-body, hands down. '87's lost the "rake".

I swear I heard somewhere that the outer odor handles on 86s were like a dark grey and 87s were black... guess not.

And Gray on an '87 and the Screw covers are a different color than the '87's.

The exterior door handles were both semi gloss black.

Visually only the grille and the "rake" on a '86 are the only real differences.

Must've been that then. Thanks for the clarification.

For future reference:

Here is a '87 with 23K miles:

Compare the tire gaposis.

1986 FTW.
must've switched to a stiffer spring in 87, or a taller one. Or both. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I see two overpriced, black Regals...

You see overpriced, I saw $8K Profit for having a nice stock car to take to take to car shows and the track a couple times over the 12 years I owned it. I actually bought it to eventually sell it.

Some cars are obviously going to appreciate over their "bottom" - usually somewhere between 10-20 years after new. With only 5,000 made, an '86 GN with 23K miles was a no brainer.
