Car is looking awesome Robert.....you do amazing work!

I started stripping my upper door panels to recover myself. The passengers side back board is broken. Both are warped from moisture also. Going to have to get new cardboard from my local automotive upholstery supply and try to figure out how to reattach the metal top to the new cardboard. So a supposed quick recover has now turned into a major repair. I just can't catch a break.

I bought this from Kevin in Canada and it came from a Hurst Olds. It was painted flat black by someone and they had attached it with a screw. It had an indent from the screw being tightened down. I stripped it to bare metal and used 80 grit sandpaper going with the brush lines till it removed the indent. I then used silver spray paint, then gray scotchbrite one direction, and cleared it when I was clearing my decked. I used the brown enamel I had used on my woodgrain and globbed it in the inlay. I wiped the face with a cloth. I wanted something on the center dash vent panel.

I purchased lower door panel pre cut carpet strips that match my carpet. I just test fit them and they are not cut correctly. Luckily they are a bit bigger. Had to use an exacto knife around them for a better fit.
