The title says it all. If you have had trouble installing your harmonic balancer, you know how frustrating it can be. I tried installing my stubborn harmonic balancer with dry ice and it went on as smoothly as I could have hoped. best part is, when I was done I didn't have the feeling that I may have done some damage like a ig hammer or torch leaves me with. Either way, It's a 1 Minute Short Video. Have a look!

Old trick I often use for bearings. Put it in the fridge for an hour or two (don't get caught by the woman) and slightly heat the opposite. Bearing slips in like a glove.

If you have a harmonic balancer without the rubber ring you can chuck it in the oven and it should work the same. However, if you have the rubber ring in yours, this is the way to go.

I've heard of people using dry ice for things like this but where does one acquire it?

My local grocery store had it for sale by the pound. it was around $5 for a pound bag and I used the other half to make "science experiments" with the kids. A caldron and some dry ice bombs.
