Has anybody converted their headlights over to Celebrity/Caprice one piece units?

This is what got me looking into it a little more. At a glance the whole nose looks about the same.

Personally, I would like to swap in an E36 BMW headlight. mainly because they are a lot easier to find, I have seen it done in an 82-92 Camaro but never a G-body.

I spoke with David today from Lauren Engineering.

He told me he just got in an 86 Monte with the composite headlights and will hopefully repoping the headlight buckets out of fiberglass.

If he does, this conversion should become a lot easier

I basically do composite swaps to all my goodies...here's a couple I've done and the pics I can find.i can do a elco header with composites(caprice) for 425.57 shipped.pm me if interested.

Tempting, but I just crossed the $1000 mark on my 5-speed swap and I don't want to be smothered to death in my sleep by my SO.

Looks good though.

I have two set of caprice headlights for when I convert my Malibu and El Camino. After mocking up on my 82-up malibu/El camino header panels it's a easy swap if your not scared to modify some. Im going to use led bulbs instead of a h4 style bulb. If your want to do a easier swap run the composite four headlight housings and h4 bulbs with a headlight relay wiring harness setup.

I actually tried that before I hit the deer(with regular halogen bulbs). It may have been that particular brand of light (I got them off ebay), but I thought the light pattern on them was terrible. I was getting flashed constantly.

I had also thought of using LED conversion assemblys like this, but am not sure if they would look out of place on an el camino.
