white smoke out of the exhaust at start up in the morning isn't unusual. If it's burning coolant the smoke does not go away and you can't help but notice the smell of burning coolant. You mentioned the car gets hot driving around town but what's it like on the highway. Also have you confirmed that the temperature reading is accurate?

Am just freaking out cause one my temp gauge never whent up so high even on city.
I was thinking of buyn a new twmp gauge to get a acurate reading. Am about to top off coolant as am typing this on mobile phone. Then am gonna warm up the ca and take it for a a lil cruise. To the local barber shop.

And a BIG thanks to you ...pontiacgp... for all ur answers. Man..I owe u... :D

if you are worried about the coolant mixing with the oil you can flush the coolant out and use distilled water with some water wetter to lubricate the pump. It's the coolant, not the water, that destroys the babbitt on the bearings if coolant mixes with the oil. Water has better heat transfer capabilities than the coolant. The coolant raises the boiling point but pressurized water also has a higher boiling point and the water wetter will help to run it cooler. I doubt your going to get any temapture under 32º where you live so freezing isn't a concern. If you're doing your engine transplant in a month I wouldn't spend much on this engine
