Health issue

My view yesterday. Glad I got to leave. The really crappy thing about all of this is its pretty much all on me. When I had the CT in '08 it was 25%. I stopped working that year. I was 179lbs. Now Im just shy of 220lbs. When youre a kid you can eat crap food every day. Not when your in your 50s and 60s. I ran around all day, every day when I was working. I started to slow down after I hurt my neck and back. Then the weight started to add up. With the weight gain, my knees started to hurt. Now theyre bone on bone. Im sure if I was back at 179 I'd be doing a lot better.
My wife all over me about what I should be eating and more than that. What I shouldnt be eating. I would put salt on chips. Love Chinese food. Everything high in sodium. Looks like some changes are coming. Take it from me guys, this happens quick. The interventional cardiologist told me if they didnt catch all this I would have been dead in less than two years. Think about that guys. Take it as a PSA.

I've been on blood thinners for about 20 years and I hit my head a lot. I still do everything I did before. Use a chainsaw, volunteer fire fighter, and anything else I want to do. I've hit my head to many times to count. I was mowing and a three foot branch that was 1 1/2-2 inches thick fell and hit me in the head. I don't worry about bleeding to much as I feel that if you worry about it you will live in a bubble and you don't know when your last day on earth is. Enjoy life, we're all on this roller coaster called life and nobody makes it out alive.

Glad you're alright Mike. Sure sucks to get old. I went from no meds to lots of meds almost overnight. Just listen to the doctors, they have your life in their hands. Lifestyle changes? As my doctor said, "Do you want to live? Or...? "

We know this was your real view and you just didn't want your wife to see you post it:

Now that you're on the mend a bit it's time to help you laugh more, some of the best medicine. Have to keep all the good news coming.

So... what else have we got for you tonight eh? Hrmm...

How about if given all that you've been through you need to start practicing your Fred Sanford routine when you want something from your wife and arent getting your way....

Well, one way to ask would be:

So, doc, you said about 3% of your valve replacement surguries had either a stroke or the surgery was unsuccessful right? Please tell me that you haven't done 100 of them but 97 were practice operations on cadavers.

Should get the ball rolling

One of the best things about this thread is you are giving us updates (if you know what I mean). Glad everything went smooth. We are all praying for your recovery AND waiting for those updates after your next doctor's visit.
