Thought you guys would want to here as soon as I got home. Procedure went well. I have to say I feel blessed. Went in between 1:30 and 2:00 and was in the recovery room before 3. This TAVR thing is amazing. I was leaving the hospital before 11am today with a brand new valve. The stuff they used to put me out was pretty heavy duty. A cocktail of fetanyl, ketamine, versed, and propofol. Plus 5 other things that Ive never heard of.
Glad they knew what they were doing. LOL
The wait was the hardest thing. I was supposed to be there at 11 yesterday but we left a bit early thinking the traffic could be an issue. Its usually a 90 minute trip on an average day but yesterday we made it in a little over an hour. My wife, daughter, son and daughter in law all came. What we didnt know was the hospital only allowed two family members inside the building. My 32 year old son and his wife stayed in their car until the official visiting hours started. I felt so bad for him. He was crying. Guess he was honestly afraid he would never see me again.
When the procedure was over the cardiologist came into the recover room to talk to my wife. Got a size 28 valve. Pig flaps. I have to say I feel pretty good today now that Im home. Last night while I was in recovery a PT came in to get me up and walking. Took me to the bathroom so I could pee standing up. LOL On the way back I turned white as a ghost and started to drop. Then I started having a problem seeing. Both eyes were blurry. I was impressed. They had an emergency stroke response team there in less than 5 minutes. Close to a dozen docs and PAs. They took me for 3 total CT scans and they couldnt see anything. They figured it was from the meds. Went away in less than a half hour.
I feel blessed guys. Glad Im home with the family. Glad Ive got some more time here on the planet. Thank you all for the prayers and good vibes !!! They worked !!!!
