Heat soak......tired of it

X2 on the 9510. I had heat soak issues with the 9000 on my sbc. Swapped to a 9612 and haven't had any issues since
It's on the way just don't when it will be here for sure. Got some more exhaust wrap. Will buy a new cable that runs to the battery. Still 50/50 on getting a heat shield. For 3 reasons.
1) looking at reviews, MAY not need it.
2) there's so many to chose from not sure what will work 100%
3) not sure how the thickness of a shield would affect the position of where the starter meets the fly wheel. Would it be To far away and will cause more adjustment?

Please keep us posted on the results.

I had the Powermaster 9100, worked great. I had Summit's version of it, what a POS.

I seriously doubt that you need any heat wrap with that mini starter

Starter arrives tomorrow. Already got the header bolts loose. So tomorrow after work I will start the swap. Hope it goes somewhat trouble free. Haven't done a starter for a loooong time

Got the starter today. That ****er is tiny compared to the stock one! But the instructions.....god Damn. Makes it seem very complicated...last starter I did was on a 93 olds and that an easy swap.....

Did shims come with it?

Yes. This Damn starter kicked my butt for a while. Had to remove header and also detach it from the rest of the exhaust. Then had to work like a **** to squeeze the starter out.
