you can drop the rear of the fender down by taking out 1 shim in the top rear of fender open hood the one tall bolt there might be a shim under the fender and loosen the bolt under the rear of the fender you mighr have to add a shim there also the fender is to far in on the bottom there are shims low on the fender you need to open the door you might have to loosen all the fender bolts even the ones in the splash shield jacking up on the front of the frame by the rad support will open the lower fender gap it takes a while don;t be discouraged

Also keep in mind, even with the gap, proper. When you open the door, it not only has to go in, it goes forward a bit. If the fender is towards the middle of the car, this clearance becomes more critical. Make sure the fender is not deeper, towards the middle of the car.

Another thing to keep in mind. If you bolt the inner structure to the outer off the car. It will hold that shape, which may be sagged a bit.

Any one got some tips or tricks on how to align this ? It’s giving headaches lol just when I think I’m getting it right the gap gets closer 😭😐 87 regal when open door it hits the fender paint chipping away smh ......by all means no closer then a standard paint stir stick in the high part of the crown (center crack) ok a fender on these cases should be 1/16" higher then the door so set doors accordingly proubly first. Do the door then do adjust fender 1/16" further out then the door edge the gap is going to be close to 1/4" as you look at it at 90 degrees from side ( at crack) wrecked cars are going to be harder possibly fender out of wack !... somes times you have to loosen fender at bottom pull out or press up with a 2x4 to bow the crown ect good luck
