ok so i have a 1979 el camino and im trying to put in gauges from a 1982 el camino. its clearly not just plug and play because the gas gauge wont read right and the lights are all mixed up for example i turn on the turn indacator and the idiot light blinks and sometimes the dash lights come on sometimes they dont. someone out there must have done this swap before. thanks in advance.

It should be exactly that plug-n-play ... check your grounds ... oh wait are you swaping (like) set up or are you adding guages ... I used a printed circuit from and 86 monte ss in my 79 elky ... but the elky already had a full guage package minus the tach.

ahh i got it all. i had to swap all the wires around but now there not making a good conection cuz i had to pull all the conectors out and they got bent but whatever ill fix that tomorow. thanks for the help guys!

When I swapped mine I had a hell of a time getting the 4 gauge pod to work right. It turned out to just be them damn clamps that grab the terminal on each gauge.
