Yeah, I really want to get the Felpro silicone gaskets in there. No brainer. Next weekends project.

FYI, all good now. The smoking has resided after much degreasing and about an hour of driving. Thanks for your help.

i screwed mine in the port a few inches above the oil filter pad. fit pretty good. been there a couple years now. have room behind the dist. now

Those chrome covers I've seen be bent out of the box. If the leak continues, consider running a straightedge across the rails and see what ya got.
