Welp they're out! So i tried snapping top studs off and there was quite a bit more integrity to them than I thought and couldn't get them to pop off. So used a Dremel to cut it flat and drilled them out using a couple carbide drills I grabbed from work to drill them out. made quick work out of it! As for the bottom as you can see I just cut them out with the cut off everything was just too rusty and ended up rounding everything off lol. It was actually quite a bit quicker just cutting them out. I'll just deal with the left over studs when I get to pulling the control arms!! After digging into all of this I realized i probably shouldn't have been driving this thing at all (not that it was driven much maybe 50-100 miles) shocks can be cycled by hand and all the tie rods were just flopping around lol. Can't wait to feel the difference once everything is buttoned up!

You're going to need 4 nuts for the lower shock mounts assuming yours got destroyed. GM p/n 15658213 or equivalent.

And the bolts- check this:

Bolts are M8x1.25x30. Parts book says they're not serviced. WTF?

Amazon has some that appear to fit the bill, however. They give you 8.

I did find a lead on a part number via supersession out of another GM parts book. 11515756 or 11516335. But they show the dimension as M8x1.25x20.

FYI the '73-'77 lower shock clip nuts are the same appearance & fits but are inch threaded. I have them on my car cause the local parts store had them collecting dust & was super cheap.

You would be correct they were casualties of the job! Thank you for pointing these out though because I honestly thought they weren't necessary, I thought it was an on the fly fix from the previous owner lol!

That's another option that pagrunt had. Just keep the nuts and bolts the same. You probably would look for 5/16"-18 x 1 1/4" long bolts if using SAE threads. Just get the matching J nuts.

5/16-18 J-nut GM part number is 339715. Discontinued. Naturally. But if you can find some aftermarkets using that as a reference, should you decide to go with the 5/16-18 bolts. Bolt p/n would be 9423842 (1 1/2" long)

AMK has J nuts SAE if you need them for the 339715.
